Monday Motivation: Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

As India celebrates its 76th Independence Day it is time for us to reflect on all that we have achieved thus far and all the we are determined to achieve in the future.

This celebration has been rightly named as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav as just like “amrit” it is bound to flow forever. Just as “amrit” cures all ills our spirit of national integration shall cure all that may harm our progress. India has achieved success in so many fields such as education, health and medicine, aerospace, scientific discoveries and researches that have impacted the world, business, infrastructure and list can go on for a few paragraphs if not pages for sure.

In the words of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi “The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav means elixir of energy of independence; elixir of inspirations of the warriors of freedom struggle; elixir of new ideas and pledges; and elixir of Aatmanirbharta. Therefore, this Mahotsav is a festival of awakening of the nation; festival of fulfilling the dream of good governance; and the festival of global peace and development.”

As an International University Symbiosis has also believed in this ethos, and we have constantly endeavoured to contribute in the phenomena of creating an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Through our Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation we have hand held several ventures, have provided guidance and support. We have even provided funding to many of the ventures. Additionally, to empower the women of India we have been even more supportive in assisting women to start their ventures irrespective of whether it was urban or rural.

We truly believe in Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam- The World is One Family and as spoken by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 6th March 2022, when he visited the Symbiosis International University campus, we truly believe that Universities provide the perfect platform for exchange of ideas across the globe. As students from 85 different countries come together at the Symbiosis campus the atmosphere is always abuzz with ideas and replete with energy.

As we celebrate the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ let us teach our young ones and youth of the country to respect our nation and the rich heritage and culture it has. We should teach them to respect other cultures and more importantly we should teach them to save this planet from the effects of climate change so that it becomes a better place for generations to live peacefully.
