Wishing all women, A Very Happy International Women’s Day!

The past year that is 2020, is a year that we will remember for all our life. Women played an important role not just as mothers who supported their children who were confined to their homes or those that supported their old parents and in-laws who needed extra care, or even wives who supported their husbands who were working from home. During COVID, 70% of the health workers the world over were women! They sustained pressures of family and long hours at work and were still happy. The first COVID Rapid Test in India was designed by a woman! We at Symbiosis have several women in leadership positions. In January 2021, my father’s dream of establishing an all-women medical college – Symbiosis Medical College for Women came into reality. The following month, for the first time in India the budget was read by a woman- the Hon’ble Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, an advocate of women empowerment. The Chief Scientist of WHO is an intelligent and charismatic woman, Soumya Swaminathan.

We have seen the likes of Lt. Gen(Dr.) Madhuri Kanitkar striking a perfect balance between home and work, something that I too have also believed in and have pursued in all my endeavours.

This Women’s Day let us all strive towards achieving greater heights. Let us create a positive and healthy environment for our family and friends, and empower and inspire others in our journey. I feel proud and happy that we are recognized for our work and respected for our contribution to empowering our families and Society!

Happy International Women’s Day!
