Once again, the festive season has arrived, bringing brightness and cheer to our surroundings. This joyous feeling takes me back to my childhood days at St. Joseph’s Convent, where December marked the beginning of singing Christmas carols. This season was not just about happiness but also about gratitude for all the blessings in our lives.
As a mother, I endeavoured to maintain this spirit at home. Decorating the Christmas tree became a cherished ritual, and the presents underneath never failed to bring joy. I also love to cook a special Christmas dinner consisting of full roast chicken, roasted potatoes, stir fried vegetables and Biryani, for my friends. The act of giving gifts is a pleasure, but receiving heartfelt wishes and handmade cards from young children adds a special warmth to the celebrations. It not only allows them to express their feelings but also fosters thoughtfulness and care within the family.
At Symbiosis International University, we cultivate an inclusive environment by organizing a Christmas dinner at the Symbiosis Centre for International Education. Witnessing international students celebrating our Indian festivals with us is heartening, and this event becomes our way of reciprocating the affection they share.
Now, spending Christmas with my grandchildren, I aim to pass on the same warmth and happiness. We reflect on the events of the past year and make plans for the upcoming one. The time spent with family rejuvenates us and instils a renewed vigour to face the new year with energy and enthusiasm.
I extend my heartfelt wishes to everyone for a Merry Christmas, and may the new year bring cheer and happiness to every home and heart.
