Monday Motivation: Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat!

This has been the slogan of our Hon’ble Prime Minister. What does this exactly mean and how can we inculcate this amongst our young ones? It only means how can we come together to make our nation strong.

Our country has so much diversity. Diversity in every region or state as regards colour, cuisine, language etc. in spite of this diversity India is united.

Symbiosis kindergarten School Symbi Stars has inculcated this spirit of Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat right since Junior KG. They not only teach the children but also inculcate this through cultural performances. They put together dances of different states etc. If we imbibe this from such an early age by the time they turn into adults they will carry this feeling of oneness.

The teachers of Symbi Stars came up with the brilliant idea of introducing the children to it. However, what made their efforts stand out was the fact that the children were given the opportunity to dress up as residents of the different states of India.

Now, imaging how boring would it have been for these little children to sit in a classroom and look at a 2D image of a giant map and see zigzag lines demarcating land. For these young minds it is all about perception. What they see, touch, feel is what they remember. When they dress up from a particular state they will remember it forever. Also, when they see their friends dress up as residents of different states they will remember that too.

When all the children dressed up and came together it was as though it were a mela of colours, and culture. India’s diversity was brought before them and I am sure that it will remain with them forever. Not only did the children dress up but also walked on the stage displaying their outfits. Their confidence was truly amazing.

As they grow up I am sure that such exposures will only make them more sensitive towards the cultural diversity of the country and adaptable individuals. It will help them adjust in all kinds of environments and become true global citizens.
