Diwali is around the corner. However, this year is not only about the light from the lamps but the light of new realizations that have been lit within our hearts and minds.
With the relief brought in by the vaccine, times have taken a turn for the better. The colours of the rangoli speak of the colours of life. Each of the colours reflects our moods and emotions. The lights and diyas talk of hope and blessings that we receive from the elders. The fragrance of flowers brings a sense of calm and excitement at the same time.
It is so exciting to see the Diwali spirit in all family members once again. Children are excited to go shopping with their moms, not for the clothing but of course the eats. It is so comforting to be able to switch to the face-to-face mode from the online mode. At the same time, I would also advise that we maintain social distancing and also refrain from trying out clothes.
For me personally, it is lovely to see the Symbiosis family coming together to celebrate Diwali. The campus is lit up with lights and rangolis marking the pre-Diwali celebrations. Smiling faces and be seen and chirpy tones can be heard as the air is filled with positivity.
This Diwali we can meet our friends and family albeit with certain restrictions. I feel grateful that some amount of normalcy has returned. We can buy sweets and exchange gifts. All that had been taken for granted has become precious.
May this light of peace and happiness continue to surround us, may we continue to be each other’s strength and help each other overcome the challenges collectively. I am sure that on this Diwali the fervour is no less than for the past years, yet it is realization has brought a sense of calm.
So let this Festival of Lights bring in light and happiness in our homes!
Happy Diwali!
