There is something magical about the monsoon. The rain is the same, yet it touches every stage of life differently.
For children, it signals the end of carefree summer vacations and the beginning of a new academic year. There are mixed emotions, reluctance to return to school, excitement to reunite with friends, the crisp smell of new books and notebooks, colourful raincoats, paper boats, and endless puddles waiting to be splashed.
As adults, we see the monsoon as a season of quiet appreciation. One good shower transforms dusty landscapes into vibrant shades of green. A cup of hot tea, the fragrance of wet earth, and the beauty of rain-soaked trees remind us to slow down and soak in nature.
And then there is the monsoon at Symbiosis International (Deemed University), a season that never loses its charm. Students are often seen, quite literally, walking through the clouds, umbrellas in hand, as mist wraps around the hilltop campus. Peacocks dance after the rain, the surrounding forest comes alive in brilliant shades of green, and every pathway feels refreshed. It’s a reminder that some places become even more magical when it rains.
Perhaps that’s the beauty of the monsoon, it doesn’t just change the landscape; it changes the way we feel. The child in us remembers new beginnings, while the adult in us learns to cherish nature’s quiet miracles.
