Dubai – A Global Education Hub
Education has always held immense priority in India. Earlier, we had universities in India like Takshashila, Nalanda, and Vikramshila, which attracted a lot of foreign students and even other foreign scholars to India. So, internationalization or globalization of education has a very long history in India.
The underlying question is: Why does one need global education? Is it just to get a ‘Status Symbol?’
Internationalization is in the DNA of Symbiosis. We have created a very globalized campus, and we practice internationalization at home, as we have students from 85+ countries on our campus. Our Indian students who cannot afford to travel abroad can still connect with the world through these foreign students. Foreign faculty come and teach in our classrooms, which is another excellent opportunity for Indian students who can’t afford a global education but have foreign faculty to teach them. The most important aspect is the Global Immersion program rolled out by Symbiosis International University, wherein students get scholarships to travel abroad and spend a semester or a few weeks at a partner foreign university.
Symbiosis has established its first international campus in Dubai. We chose Dubai because it is the melting pot of Asia and the Western World. Dubai is one of the world’s most cosmopolitan, upcoming, dynamic and modern cities. It is not only a trade hub but also is a financial city, a health city, a media city, an internet city, and most importantly, it has nationalities from all the countries of the world.
Imagine a scenario wherein a student gets to study at an Indian University Campus in Dubai. There cannot be anything better! We have faculty who are PhD holders with excellent teaching skills. Most importantly, the campus is in the center of Dubai Knowledge Park. Symbiosis has more than 900+ alumni who come and engage with the students. They are mentors and buddies to the students and provide experiential industry-based learning to the students.
Indian students who probably find the Far West a costly option will find Dubai affordable. Dubai is very safe, especially for female students, as they can travel without fear from one place to another. Symbiosis has also started the Study in Dubai Program for students who want to get a flavor of global education. In Dubai students will become privy to a bustling city that gives opportunities to those who seek to flourish, a city that is known for its cultural diversity and inclusivity, and above all a city that promises growth.
