The deep roots of violence and terrorism sprung its ugly face in the form of the unfortunate German bakery bombing last weekend completely shaking up the denizens of this rather pleasant and safe city. Pune, a huge educational hub with 500,000 regular students and 18,000 foreign students suddenly felt insecure and traumatized  with the totally unexpected bomb fire in the elite Koregaon Park area. However, let me assure all the parents of our students and others at large, that this is not a regular occurrence and Pune is still a safe place for the numerous budding students who come with much hope and aspirations towards this “Oxford of the East.”

We at Symbiosis are on a very low morale with four of our students effected, amongst whom one Iranian student passed on and the other three being hospitalized. We wish for their speedy recovery and hope they come out safe without any mental or physical disabilities. The oneness and comradeship shown by other students of Symbiosis towards their fellow mates can be seen through the dedicated efforts at hospitals in the form of blood donation, keeping in touch with parents and offering moral support as is the need of the hour.

Like Mumbaikars, Puneites have also stood up bravely in the face of such adversity and moved on with their lives with resilience and taking the strong blow in their stride. I conclude by saying that the dynamism and effervescence that runs through the pulse of this city will soon be for all to see!

Keep safe and keep calm!
